WINESTATE (2007 Vintage) says
Lifted, ripe, jammy toffee aromas. Alcoholic fruit cake palate. Great varietal - very complex.

Campbell Mattinson & Gary Walsh (2007 Vintage) says
It's hard to tell which grape the Hilltops region grows best - which must make marketing the area difficult. Cabernet used to be the push, but more recently it has been more about shiraz, but then a zinfandel like this comes along. Unusual wine - but an attractive one. It tastes of sandalwood and tar, raspberries and dried herbs, the mix of dark-fruit sweetness and woody, more rustic flavours making each sip interesting. It's smoothly textured and well structured. We're guessing this isn't for everyone, particularly because there is quite a bit of sweetness here, but there is a lot of complex, well-formed flavour too.
