Cracka Rating

Cracka Review

This drier style of riesling from renown Aussie winemaker Geoff Hardy is a dead set bargain! It's a vibrant, frisky young thing with lovely smells of lime sorbet, honeysuckle and green apples on the nose, whilst the palate is light and zippy with a real zing of citruses through the palate before a reasonably dry, crunchy finish.

Winemaker's Notes

Riesling originated in the Rhine region of Germany and is well known for its high acidity and flowery, almost perfumed aromas. It is also a variety that is extremely ‘terroir’ expressive, which makes it a perfect suitor for the cooler Adelaide Hills vineyards in Kuitpo from where it is sourced.

The 2014 Hand Crafted Riesling is the first wine released under our new look Hand Crafted label.

Nose: Delicate aromas of white flowers and lavender are complemented by white peach and lemon notes.

Palate: The palate is fresh and balanced with lemony goodness and perky acidity.

Food: Try it with a green mango and soft shelled crab salad.

Cellaring: This wine is drinking beautifully now, but can also be aged for up to 8 years.

Alcohol: 12.7%

Expert Reviews

James Halliday (2013 Vintage) says
Light straw-green; a very well-made wine, filled with lime/lemon juice on the bouquet and long palate; its flavour doesn't cloy, despite its refusal to let go on the aftertaste.
WINESTATE (2012 Vintage) says
Delicate and pretty citrus/bath powerder-like aromas. Zesty lime palate. Good flavour depth.
