Cracka Review

To score a free super Shiraz, made by five red star rated producer Handpicked Wines all you need to do is purchase five bottles of the (also delicious) 2012 Handpicked Regional Selection Heathcote Shiraz, which is the brother of the super-premium Regional Selections bonus wine.

This pack then contains:

5 x 2012 Handpicked Collections Shiraz - a mega-rich Heathcote Shiraz matured for 18 months in barrel built in an old-school hearty and powerful style that is currently selling for $33.99 directly from the winery.

1 x free bottle of 2013 Handpicked Regional Selections Shiraz - 'The vineyard has three clones, separately fermented, a small portion with whole bunches, matured for 15 months in new and used barriques, mainly French. Deep crimson-purple, its power and complexity stand side by side, black fruits, star anise and licorice with a sunbeam of red fruit on the palate, the tannins persistent but fine.' 96 points, James Halliday.

With just 100 of these to go around this pack won't last long. So get in real quick if you want to snap up a Heathcote bargain!

Winemaker's Notes

This case contains:

1 bottle of the 2013 Handpicked Collection Heathcote Shiraz 96 points, James Halliday. Silver Medal, 2015 Decanter Asia Wine Awards
Tasting Note: With its layers of fruit and earthy complexity, this wine is a fine example of Heathcote Shiraz. It has lifted spicy berry aromas with hints of chocolate and mint. The palate has a mix of berry fruits and savoury spices with smoothly integrated tannin and just enough acidity. This wine cries out for the quintessential Aussie roast lamb dinner.

5 bottles of the 2012 Handpicked Regional Selection Heathcote Shiraz
Tasting Note: This wine has aromas of ripe forest fruits, hints of mint and subtle vanilla oak. The palate is medium weight with flavours of berry fruit and a hint of oyster shell adding complexity. The finish is clean and crunchy with some gritty tannin. Old fashioned roast pork with crackling would be a cracking match.
