James Halliday (2009 Vintage) says
The grapes were picked at three levels of ripeness and 10 per cent of the juice was barrel-fermented in new French oak. The wine is very intense and concentrated, fruit, oak and minerals all contributing, ultimately met on the finish by acidity of the kind normally found only in Tasmania.

Why drink New Zealand when you can find this wine's luscious aromatics, passionfruit and integrated acidity?

Nick Stock (2007 Vintage) says
A consistent performer from the cool Macedon region, it shows very bright primary fruits, tropical aromas and some cooler mineral edges, fine flinty lift and cool-regional character. The palate has greener fleshed fruits, melon and pear flavours, very subtle herbs and a fine line of crisp, direct acidity.

Jeremy Oliver (2006 Vintage) says
Herbal and dusty, with light gooseberry aromas and a refreshing, forward and fruity palate that lacks great length and presence. It's clean and varietal, but could use more punch and intensity.

Attractive gooseberry and citrus aromas and flavours; great drive on a vibrant finish and aftertaste.

Delicate, lightly grassy aromas of lychees and gooseberries are backed by lightly sweaty and nutty undertones. It's clean and juicy, but its melon and gooseberry-like palate lacks great impact, finishing a little thin, with green cashew-like notes and a hint of minerality. A little green and simple.

Spotlessly clean aromas, with no hint of sweatiness; tropical passionfruit flavour, with good length and balance.

Jeremy Oliver (2004 Vintage) says
A leaner, more taut expression of sauvignon blanc than typical from this maker, and a wine whose minerality and sculpted nature reveals a little more (positive) winemaking attitude. Its herbaceous aromas of lychees, gooseberries and passionfruit and long, tangy and lingering palate present delightful varietal qualities and intensity.

Jeremy Oliver (2003 Vintage) says
Lightly sweaty and vegetative aromas lurk beneath its dusty, herbaceous aromas of citrus, passionfruit and wet slate, while its slightly cloying, broad and confectionary palate lacks its usual shape and freshness. It finishes with both sweetness and austerity, and would appear to have been made from both under and over-ripe fruit.

Moderately intense; ranges through herb to tropical; good length.

Light to medium yellow-green; the bouquet has some lifted grassy I herbal aromas accompanied by some free SO?, which will soon diminish. The palate has plenty of varietal character and definition, with a touch of passionfruit; well above-average intensity and length.

James Halliday (2001 Vintage) says
Very pale straw-green; a light, crisp bouquet with touches of gooseberry, asparagus and grass peeping through; the delicate and crisp palate has a nice tight finish, giving it both length and, despite the delicacy, character. Made in a very consistent style from year to year.

James Halliday (1999 Vintage) says
Very light straw-yellow; the bouquet is crisp and clean, with grassy/minerally fruit, the palate fresh, lively, zingy and intense, finishing with bracing but not unpleasant acidity.
