Hans Herzog Marlborough Pinot Noir

Expert Reviews

Michael Cooper (2008 Vintage) says
This powerful wine needs at least a couple of years to reveal its class. The 2008 vintage was fermented with indigenous yeasts, matured for a year in French oak puncheons (10 per cent new), and bottled unfined and unfiltered. Full-coloured, it is rich, savoury and complex, with ripe cherry, plum and spice flavours, a hint of dark chocolate, and a firm backbone of tannin. It's a finely scented wine with an almost raisiny richness.

Michael Cooper (2007 Vintage) says
This powerful wine needs at least a couple of years to reveal its class. The 2007 vintage was harvested at 24.2 to 25.1 brix, fermented with indigenous yeasts, matured for a year in French oak barriques (20 per cent new), and bottled unfined and unfiltered. Highly scented, very ripe and silky, it's a top year, with mouthfilling body (14.8 per cent alcohol) and rich cherry, plum and nut flavours, long and lovely.
