Hans Herzog Sauvignon Blanc "Grande Duchess"

Cracka Review

These grapes were selected from a single block on the Estate which has notably stony soil reminiscent of the terroir in Bordeaux and created in the style of a white Bordeaux.

An exuberant Sauvignon Blanc with aromas of creamy white fruits, mango and vanilla spice on the rich, full bodied palate. A backbone of zesty acidity balances the wine and adds finesse. Powerful yet delicate with a lingering finish.

A small parcel of grapes were barrel fermented with wild yeasts in 100% new French oak before undergoing a secondary, malolactic fermentation and matured for 12 months in the same barrel before bottling.

An excellent match with antipasti, duck liver paté or creamy veal dishes
