James Halliday (2009 Vintage) says
Vivid light crimson; the wine has a delicious burst of red cherry and raspberry on the very well-balanced palate, which has real length. High-quality rose.

Following the name change to Constellation Wines Australia last year, the team has been working hard to strengthen the Hardys brand and its link with the company's history. This rose is part of the Chronicles range, which the Constellation marketing team want us to link with incidents in Thomas Hardy's life. (Thomas Hardy's first job in Australia was to mind cattle for a local farmer. After he had managed to lose them twice, the farmer presented him with two cow bells. The herd was never lost again. Hardy was sensible enough to get out of beef and into wine.) Riveting stuff. Anyway, the wine is better than the story. It has been sourced from Limestone Coast shiraz and cabernet, has intense red cherry and redcurrant flavours that are fresh, youthful and vibrant, before a crisp, dry finish that lingers

This has won a few wine show gongs along the way, and it looks like it's in a nice place for now. Ripe cranberry and raspberry fruits, some light leafy nuances and plenty of acid spark to hold it fresh. Gentle fruit sweetness - really composed and balanced. For the money, there's little to argue with.

Vivid fuschia-pink; a bright and juicy-fruity style, with cherry pop and raspberry flavours.
