James Halliday (2002 Vintage) says
Has finesse and elegance, but — surprisingly — seems to lack the fruit concentration of the very best wines of the vintage; blackberry and spice; good balance and length; controlled oak.

James Halliday (2001 Vintage) says
Dense red-purple; a rich, complex, dense bouquet with blood plum, spice and vanilla oak aromas is followed by a velvety-textured palate, mouthfilling and rich, with excellent fruit and oak balance supported by ripe tannins. From Peter Taylor's own vineyard, finishing fermentation in American oak, where it spends 16 months. Neither filtered nor fined.
