The great Australian red blend is back in style and here it is in full effect. The combination of Shiraz and Cabernet makes for such an easy drinking style that enhances any barbecue where red meat is the focus. This stunning red comes with the seal of approval of a number of wine judges who gave it three Gold medals and were enamoured by its nose of dark fruit, licorice and hints of pepper. The Shiraz lends rich fruit while the Cabernet aids structure in this well structured red.
Rich Frankland River Shiraz has been blended with selected parcels of Cabernet Sauvignon from Mount Barker.
Appearance: A bright crimson colour with youthful purple hues.
Nose: A rich aromatic nose displaying an enticing combination of cinnamon, black pepper, plum, liquorice, and blackberry supported by oak and hints of leafy tobacco.
Palate: Initially soft ripe plums and black current lead to a more structured mid-palate of raspberry and aniseed with a long textured finish of spicy oak and mocha supported by velvety tannins.
Cellaring: The wines richness and structure, combined with the use of screw cap technology, suggest that it will improve with up to 10 years careful cellaring.
