Harewood The Edge Classic Dry White

Cracka Rating

Cracka Review

This crisp bottle of white from Harewood would not look out of place in your Summer picnic hamper - and would go well with those prawn and mayo sandwiches. Made from a blend of chardy, sav blanc and semillon, the savvy really has quite an influence with almost extreme smells of tropical fruits coming up to greet the nose, along with lemon citrus and chopped herbs. The palate is ligher-bodied and zesty, with stone fruit and passionfruit flavours, frisky acidity, and a long citrusy finish. Good value!

Winemaker's Notes

This wine is a crisp, fruit driven blend of Chardonnay (50%), Sauvignon Blanc (32%) and Semillon (18%) grown in vineyards situated in the Mount Barker, Denmark and Frankland River sub-regions of the Great Southern, Western Australia.

Appearance: A brilliant, pale straw colour with youthful green hues.

Nose: An intense, pungent nose displaying stone fruit and passionfruit with hints of gooseberry and grassy citrus notes.

Palate: Mouth-watering citrus and nectarine falvours are balanced by more tropical passionfruit and pineapple notes. Hints of flint and spice in the mid-palate lead to a lingering finish of grapefruit.

Cellaring: This wines lively fruit and crisp finish are best enjoyed in its youth, but will develop complexity over a 5 year period.
