Cracka Review

Everyone knows someone who drinks white wines only. Sadly, I know a few, but it doesn’t stop me from trying to lure them over to the dark side. I’ve tried lots of tricks like blindfolding them, serving lighter reds in teacups and even serving a glass of red in total darkness, all with mixed results. Next time I try for a colour conversion I’ll reach for the Harvey River Bridge Estate Merlot. This silky smooth red has lashings of juicy plum flavours that are a sure-fire hit, even for white wine only drinkers. But if it doesn’t work out, I’ll happily polish off the remains of the bottle of this more-ish Merlot.

Winemaker's Notes

2011 was a warm year and the fruit ripened with ease, resulting in a wine that is soft and elegant. Will drink well for 5 to 7 years. Dry, medium bodied, balanced acid and textural skins, tannins support the intense berry fruit flavours, also some subtle vanilla that delivers some extra complexity.

Alcohol: 14.5%

Harvey River Bridge Estate Merlot

Expert Reviews

Ray Jordan (2002 Vintage) says
This is built along the lines that merlot should be. It's soft and generous with fine silky tannins and n effortless palate that builds slowly to the finish. Sweet sappy plum fruit and dark fruits provide a complexity and interest.
