Good example of an elegant style captures the varietal aromas and the contradiction of pinot intensity yet subtlety. A good line of acidity fresh primary fruit and silky tannins. We can only wait for vine age to work its magic on this site.

A lovely, elegant, finely crafted pinot from a new high-altitude vineyard in the Southern Tablelands region of NSW. On the very skimpy evidence to date (two wines) this may prove to be the best site for pinot noir in the entire state. Although one could argue that NSW doesn't provide a lot of competition and yes, I have had the Hunter pinot argument many times. For me, Hunter pinot noir is the wine equivalent of Cool unnings but far less enjoyable.

Nick Bulleid MW has always dreamed of owning a great Pinot Noir vineyard. And rather than buy vines in some well-recognized specialist Pinot Noir zone, Nick has gone it alone and planted a vineyard near Laagan in the Southern Tablelands of New South Wales that is producing varietal and expressive wines. What impresses me most is their reserved and fragrant fruit, their pure Pinot character, with a lovely silky texture and fineness on the finish, all at an exceptional price. There is also admirable structure making it likely these will be at their best over the next 3 - 5 years.
