Heartland Pinot Gris

Cracka Rating

Cracka Review

Wines made with heart and from the land, put them together and you get Heartland wines made by a collective of South Australian identities but headed by star winemaker Ben Glaetzer. This Gris is nicely rounded in texture and mouthfeel, as well as offering up aromatics of citrus and stonefruit complemented by delicate florals. Zesty and mouthfiling with a fresh weight and well balanced finish. Drink it with Asian dishes or just on its own.

Winemaker's Notes

Pale lemon green in colour, the 2011 Pinot Gris displays lifted floral

aromatics with a hint of citrus on the nose, leading to ripe stone fruit and melon flavours on the palate.

Textural and zesty, this Pinot Gris has the freshness and balance to complement many diverse food styles.

Dry, medium bodied and un-oaked.

James Halliday (2012 Vintage) says
Light straw-green; fresh and fruity, but its aroma and flavour spectrum is very different from the normal pear and apple, here headed more to citrus and stone fruit. Any less enjoyable? No.
