Nick Stock (2008 Vintage) says
A ripe and luscious and chocolate and dark-berry fruit style that has plenty of ripeness; a warm vintage has ensured even-handed fruit. The berries and leaves have a supple sheet of tannin, and there's loads of sweet fruit and sweet oak in here too. Thickening tannins roll through the back.

Jeremy Oliver (2008 Vintage) says
An elegant, longer term cabernet whose minty aromas of blackberries, cassis, mulberries and dark chocolate oak reveal undertones of menthol and dried herbs. Its juicy cassis-like fruit knits tightly with newish cedar/chocolate oak and fine, polished tannins, finishing with genuine length and brightness.

Very ripe, slightly minty, generous soft flavour and structure that appeals.

Relatively developed colour; very savoury/earthy wine; 30 months in oak; bottling 12 months earlier might have preserved more of the varietal fruit flavour to provide better balance.

Potent and intense, with strong cedar, earth and spice notes to the blackcurrant fruit; the best Helm red wine for years; great aftertaste.
