Cracka Review

Yarra Shiraz is so hot right now, pushing forward with a spicy, peppery style that is sexier, more savoury and generally rather sexy. This is a lighter example but still shows all of the pizazz of the genre. Good stuff.

Winemaker's Notes

Colour: Deep crimson with maroon hue

Nose: Red current, licorice allsort, cocoa and spice.

Palate: Blackberry, plum and current with cracked pepper spice. A rounded palate finishing with plush tannins and a savoury earthy chocolate richness.

Food: Black angus fillet, sauteed mushrooms and baked polenta.

Henley Hill Yarra Valley Shiraz

Expert Reviews

James Halliday (2011 Vintage) says
Bright, clear crimson-purple; the wine may only be light-to medium-bodied, and is not complex, but does have attractive plum and blackberry fruit, and a slippery/silky mouthfeel. Vineyard discipline and winery skills have resulted in a very creditable wine.

James Halliday (2008 Vintage) says
Crimson-red; clear-cut cool-grown shiraz aromas and flavours that go a little too far down that track; despite the alcohol, there are fleeting touches of green leaf/herb.
