Jeremy Oliver (2011 Vintage) says
Dusty, musky aromas of mulberries, dark cherries and sweet vanilla oak reveal undertones of menthol, mint and a herbaceous note. It's green-edged and tomatoey, forward and juicy but quite thin, leafy and vegetal as moves down the palate towards rather a thin, insipid finish.

Jeremy Oliver (2010 Vintage) says
Honest and soundly made, with genuine regional elegance. It's sweetly scented, minty and floral, with fresh aromas of cassis, violets and raspberries backed by vanilla oak. Medium in weight, smooth and supple, its generous, initially plump and juicy red and black berry flavour does thin out towards the finish, revealing a fine-gained spine of faintly gritty tannin.

Chunky blackcurrant with slight mint soft edged cabernet varietal palate with silky tannins and good length of blackcurrant fruit.

Campbell Mattinson & Gary Walsh (2008 Vintage) says
The Hollick winery site was once the home of a leather tannery - something we learned off the back label. This is the kind of good-drinking, good-quality, well-structured red that helped put Coonawarra on the red-wine map. It's a dry wine of integrity, no overt sweetness, and class. It tastes of blackcurrant and chocolate, mulberries and crushed gumleaves. It's a lovely drink, worth lapping up.
