Australian Gourmet Traveller Wine Magazine (2008 Vintage) says
An especially stylish, fine-grained and elegant expression of the Jack Mann style scented with sweet red cherry, berries, cassis and plum backed by finely integrated chocolate and cedary oak, and lifted by aromas of rose petals and violets. It's plump, juicy expression of intense black and red berry fruit knits seamlessly with polished oak and smooth, silky tannins, finishing with a lingering core of flavour. Give it at least a decade.

Ken Gargett (2000 Vintage) says
This wine is the very best cabernet sauvignon-based wine made by the Hardys winemakers. Fruit is sourced from the Great Southern region in WA and by gee it's a terrific wineÑ wonderful aromas, lovely flavours, ripeness and, most importantly of all, balance. Jack Mann was a legendary winemaker at Houghton and this wine is the finest tribute a bloke could ever hope for. It will go a good decade in the cellar, and beyond.
