Howard Park Cabernet Merlot Magnum

Cracka Rating

Cracka Review

We certainly don’t come along wines like this every day – Australian classics that stand the test of time. This MAGNUM of Howard Park is a perfect example of how good WA Cabernet blends can be – pretty, fragrant, cedary complex fruit finishing soft and subtle and still with some fine tannins to finish. Bid high on this as the competition will be tight.

Winemaker's Notes

An entirely different growing season gave a wine of very different personality to the celebrated 1994 release. The Merlot ripened perfectly and gives a supple influence to the structure of the 1995 release. A deep scarlet/purple colour relays the richness of the wine. Fresh, fine chocolate aromatics with a background of vanillin and coffee nuanced oak.

The palate is deeply flavoured with supple tannins and full of black plums and Christmas cake flavours. A versatile wine which can be appreciated now or will cellar for five to ten years.
