Howling Wolves Shiraz

Cracka Rating

Cracka Review

You’ll be howling like wolverine if you miss out on this superb regional Shiraz from the Margaret River. It’s made by a team of winemakers and viticulturalists who are committed to producing the best wines that howl with a sense of place. We think they’ve nailed this Shiraz and as they say you’ll find it hard to stop yourself ‘wolfing one down.’

It’s got pepper and black fruits, elements of raspberry and good supporting tannins, it’s drinking well now but will only get better with short term cellaring if you have the patience.

Winemaker's Notes

Appearance: Rich red.

Nose: Exotic aromas of red fruit, spice and musk.

Palate: Exuberant – full of sweet, ripe red fruit & chicory.

Food: Rich red sauce pastas, veal shanks, roast red meats and barbecues.

Cellaring: Beautiful now but will cellar excellently for 3-5 years.

Alcohol: 14%

James Halliday (2008 Vintage) says
Good hue, although not very deep; spicy red and black berry aromas and flavours are augmented on the medium-bodied palate by savoury/spicy tannins.
