Michael Cooper (2008 Vintage) says
Zingy and lively, the 2008 vintage is a fresh, medium-bodied wine (12.5 per cent alcohol) with minimal sweetness (5 grams/litre of residual sugar), balanced acidity, and very good harmony and depth.

Michael Cooper (2004 Vintage) says
The 2004 vintage was grown in the Two Ponds and Fairhall vineyards (the latter on 24-year-old vines) and fermented to an off-dry style (5.7 grams/litre of residual sugar). It's a fleshy and harmonious wine with ripe, citrusy, appley flavours showing very good depth and a crisp, finely balanced finish.

Michael Cooper (2002 Vintage) says
Claire Allen's wines can take time to show their best, but typically open up well after a year or two in the bottle. However, the 2002 vintage is disappointing. Grown in the Pukenga vineyard, north of Blenheim, and fermented with indigenous yeasts, it lacks fresh, lifted aromatics and the lemony, appley flavours are not vibrant.

Michael Cooper (2001 Vintage) says
Claire Allan's wines need time to show their best, but open up well after a year or two in the bottle. The 2001 was grown in the Pukenga vineyard, north of Blenheim, and fermented with indigenous ('wild') yeasts. Bright, light lemon/green, it's a full-bodied style (13 per cent alcohol) with strong, lemony, appley flavours, fresh acidity and a dryish (six grams per litre of sugar) finish. Good food wine.

Michael Cooper (1998 Vintage) says
The 1998 vintage is a mouthfilling wine (over 13 per cent alcohol) with appley aromas and flavours and a dry, firm finish. It's a solid but slightly austere, green-edged wine that may open out with time; open 2000
