We don’s see much Rosé from the other side of the ditch but this is worth celebrating in all its pink glory. It’s a combination of Merlot and Malbec and appears as a seductive salmon in the glass. You’ll find evocative aromas of summer berries before a savoury palate with a dusting of spice. It’s got mouth-watering acids and ends a touch dry but it’s brilliant chilled served with spicy food.
Our goal with this wine ( the first Huia Rosé ) was to have little skin contact with the fully ripe grapes to give a delicate salmon colour to the Rosé.
The wine reflects delicate strawberry and blackberry flavours. Although light in colour it has real savoury depth and weight on the palate with fine acidity. This Rosé is well balanced and can be served lightly chilled. It is excellent as an aperitif or for Al Fresco dining.
