James Halliday (2007 Vintage) says
Slightly more purple to the colour; a finer and fresher wine than the standard, with a little more new oak evident and red fruits accompanying the black fruits; the mouthfeel and all-over flavour is delicious, long and balanced.

Rob Geddes MW (2006 Vintage) says
These wines pack a big punch in the oak and ripe fruit department requiring time to marry it all together.

James Halliday (2005 Vintage) says
Good colour; attractive black fruit and vanillin oak aromas foreshadow a wine with excellent red and black fruit, flavours as the driver of the palate, tannins and oak in balanced support

James Halliday (2002 Vintage) says
Bin FB15. Even richer and denser than FB13; ripe blackberry, chocolate and currant fruit; ripe, soft tannins, controlled oak.

Jeremy Oliver (2002 Vintage) says
An oaky and spirity Mudgee red that needs time. Its assertively wooded and slightly meaty aromas of blackberry and redcurrant confiture reveal nuances of polished leather and clove-like spiciness. Firm and sinewy, its deeply fruited palate of black and red berries is presently overawed by its rather raw and angular oak, but should have what it takes to come together.

James Halliday (2001 Vintage) says
Bin FB19. Ripe, deep plum/black cherry fruit; ripe tannins, balance and style.

James Halliday (2000 Vintage) says
Bin FB12. Medium to full red-purple; the bouquet exudes sweet cherry/berry fruit and quite pronounced vanilla oak, and the palate has rich fruit and depth which sustains the quite obvious oak, tannins and acidity. An outstanding success in a dismal vintage for shiraz.

James Halliday (1999 Vintage) says
Bin FB34. Medium to full red-purple; powerful, robust dark berry and plum intermingle with American oak on the bouquet, with more of the same on the full-bodied, rich and complex palate, laden with dark berry and dark chocolate. Like its sister wine, a gold medal winner at the 2001 Mudgee Wine Show.

James Halliday (1993 Vintage) says
Bin FB29. Excellent colour; still full of sweet red cherry and plum fruit; smooth tannins; excellent length.
