Expert Reviews

Michael Cooper (2005 Vintage) says
Grown at Matakana, north of Auckland, the 2005 vintage is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (60 per cent), Merlot (30 per cent) and Malbec (10 per cent), matured for a year in French and American oak casks. Fullish and bright in colour, it is berryish, plummy, fruity and smooth, with gentle tannins and drink-young charm.

Michael Cooper (2002 Vintage) says
Grown at Matakana, north of Auckland, the 2002 vintage is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (60 per cent), Merlot (30 per cent) and Malbec (10 per cent), matured for over a year in American and 'European' oak casks. Full-coloured, with a spicy bouquet, it's a flavoursome wine with blackcurrant and red-berry flavours, leafy, earthy touches and considerable complexity.
