Michael Cooper (2007 Vintage) says
This Matakana red is very good, but not as gigantic as the term 'titan' suggests. The 2006 vintage based on some of the oldest vines in Matakana and oak-matured for 18 months, has plenty of personality. Full-coloured, it offers very good depth of spicy, slightly herbal and earthy flavours, showing some leathery, nutty complexity. The 2007 is full-coloured, with perfumed, sweet oak aromas. Mouthfilling and smooth, with blackcurrant-like flavours tinged with sweet oak, it is savoury and complex, and drinking well now.

Michael Cooper (2002 Vintage) says
It's not as gigantic as the term 'titan' suggests, but the debut 2002 vintage of this Matakana red is deeply coloured and fragrant, with strong, well-ripened blackcurrant and spice flavours, free of undue herbaceousness. Brambly, with sweet-fruit characters, it's a strongly varietal wine, already a pleasure to drink.
