Expert Reviews

James Halliday (2010 Vintage) says
Full crimson-purple; a powerful, full-bodied estate-grown wine with a panoply of rich black fruits, bitter chocolate and well-integrated and balanced French oak, finishing with firm but ripe tannins. It's hard to criticise the alcohol, but one cannot help but wonder how great the wine would have been at 14%.

James Halliday (2008 Vintage) says
Dense purple-crimson; ultra-McLaren Vale style, with multiple layers of blackberry, plum and dark chocolate that has seamlessly married with the oak from 24 months' maturation in French hogsheads, 40% new, the tannins powerful but in balance; 300 dozen produced.

James Halliday (2007 Vintage) says
Obviously made for the US market. Traditional McLaren Vale style, with lush black fruits tempered by a touch of chocolate; good mouthfeel and carries its alcohol. True to its heritage: 240 dozen made, hand bottled.
