Inkwell Shiraz

Expert Reviews

Campbell Mattinson & Gary Walsh (2007 Vintage) says
Matured in French oak - 40 per cent of which is new. It's sustainably farmed, pruned and weeded by hand, and made in one- and two-tonne open fermenters. Inkwell has been making all the right moves for a few years, but here it really hits its straps. Big and warm with the structure to back it up. It tastes of coffee grounds and violets, blackberries and earth. There are some chocolatey characters here too but they're in the background. Polished, cedary French oak stamps its class on it. Its fruit flavours then punch all the way through the finish. If you love a big red, track this down.
