Winemaker's Notes

This wine reflects this perfect synergistic combination of Coonawarra’s trademark finesse and elegance with Wrattonbully’s generosity and power.

Appearance: Flecks of purple set in a brilliant ruby red.

Nose: Bramble berries and mulberries with hints of cloves and rich spices.

Palate: A complex array of dark berries meld with raspberry, dark chocolate and star anise. The wines rich fruit and spice is balanced with subtle oak, and velvety tannins, which combine to deliver an intense, yet elegant finish.

Food: Enjoy with a tender rack of lamb, gremolata and maple syrup glazed roast vegetables with lashings of your best olive oil.

Cellaring: With careful cellaring, this wine will gracefully age for the next 10-15 years.

Alcohol: 14.5%

Winemaking: An excellent spring combined with a great berry set provided a vintage with balanced yields and high quality fruit. The warm summer months followed by a beautiful long ‘Indian summer’ allowed the grapes to be harvested at optimal flavour and maturity.

Only the finest parcels of fruit were selected from premium Coonawarra and Wrattonbully vineyards, enabling our winemakers to craft a wine that reflects this perfect synergistic combination.
