Cracka Review

Aromas of rich tropical fruits, white currant and fresh basil lead to a palate full in delivery, combining layers of fresh textured yellow fruits cut with finely balanced mineral tension.

Jackson Estate Wine Reviews and Accolades

Silver Medal: 2008 Decanter World Wine Awards

"Fresh and tangy; distinctive currant and red capsicum flavours and lovely fruit purity. Elegant and appealingly understated Marlborough sav blanc. Subtle with considerable power. Good food wine with better cellaring potential than most." - 92 Points and 4 Stars, Bob Campbell MW for Australian Gourmet Traveller Wine Magazine, 2008

"The 2007 Sauvignon Blanc is sourced from 12 parcels and is adorned with an herbaceous nose with scents of chalk dust and limestone. Zesty on the palate with a leesy finish, this is a fine Sauvignon Blanc for early consumption." - 89 Points, Neal martin for the Wine Advocate USA, 2008

"This is a Marlborough sauvignon blanc with a little more going on than most. It's not just more complex, there's restraint and subtlety, which are foreign ideas to most of its ilk. A good aperitif." - Greg Duncan-Powell for the Sydney Morning Herlad, 2008

Jackson Estate Sauvignon Blanc

Expert Reviews

Nick Stock (2007 Vintage) says
This estate is one of the best farmed and most savvy of savvy producers, it makes a style deeply linked into their Marlborough terroir - the varietal character is on song. Limes and bright fine tropical edges, really precise, some minerals dance at the edges, fine and long.

James Halliday (1999 Vintage) says
Very pale green; pungent, lifted gooseberry and more tropical fruit aromas are followed by a powerful, dry palate where a number of fruit flavours manifest themselves, predominantly gooseberry but also a touch of melon.

James Halliday (1998 Vintage) says
Light to medium yellow-green; the bouquet is solid, with ripe tropical fruit which is, however, slightly unfocused. The palate follows on the same track; no one could take offence at a wine such as this, but it does look as if it will mature very quickly, so soft and ripe is it.

James Halliday (1997 Vintage) says
Light green-yellow; a firm, crisp, fresh and clean bouquet with a mix of herb, mineral and lemon fruit aromas; the palate is distinguished by excellent mouthfeel and length, with perfectly balanced fruit ripeness and flavours. Bang-slap in the best tradition of Jackson Estate.
