Cracka Review

Here we have another fruity and highly slurpable value red from Jacobs Creek hailing from South Eastern Australia. There's plenty of fleshy dark berries and plums on the nose, with whiffs of mocha and soft spice along for the ride. The palate is medium-bodied and juicy, with lush fruit flavours, soft tannins, and a succlent, lip-licking finish. It's not rocket science - it's just a bloody good drink!

Winemaker's Notes

Deep ruby red. Intense dark berry aromas enhanced by chocolate and mint. The palate showcases cassis and vanillin oak flavours on a backbone of fine, soft tannins. Cabernet Sauvignon provides the structure for this medium bodied wine, with Merlot adding roundness and fruit generosity on the mid palate. An ideal accompaniment to pasta, roasted meats or Mediterranean vegetables.

Alcohol: 13.8%

Matthew Jukes & Tyson Stelzer (2006 Vintage) says
Don’t get label prejudiced about this wine because this is a very tight JC that deserves to be treated like a much grander wine. Be sure to give it a decent decant. You can even cellar it for a year or two with confidence to soften its dusty tannins and allow its superb blueberry fruit to loosen up.
