James Oatley Tic Tok Sauvignon Blanc

Cracka Rating

Cracka Review

One of the Oatley family’s descendants was a clockmaker who found himself sent to the colonies for stealing bed linen. Thankfully he continued his art on this side of the world and was recognised as one of the most skilled clock and watch matchers of his time. Continuing the tradition the Tic Tok range honours the legend. This fresh and fruity Sauvignon Blanc is a mix of Frankland River and Pemberton fruit and shows zesty tropical fruit with an herbaceous edge. With zippy acids and herb note it has an excellent mouthfeel and long finish.

Winemaker's Notes

This premier example of Australian sauvignon blanc exhibits the hallmarks of the varietal – a very pale appearance and zesty tropical fruits with just a hint of grassy, herbal notes and zippy acidity. It has a lovely mouthfeel and great length of flavour.

James Oatley Tic Tok Sauvignon Blanc

Expert Reviews

James Halliday (2011 Vintage) says
Pale quartz-green; extremely clever winemaking has taken sauvignon blanc with good varietal presence and character, and left an all but undetectable hint of sweetness on the finish, meaning that the wine is at its best now.
Wine Companion Aug/Sept
WINESTATE (2009 Vintage) says
Slightly honeyed/sweaty notes to the smoky nose and attractive dry white flavours.
