Jed Limited Release Malbec

Cracka Rating

Cracka Review

Malbec is the red grape that Argentina hangs its hat on. It is their noble variety, and apparently only the best fruit goes into this wine. A bounty of spicy black berries and cherries rise up from the glass, along with a hint of florals. The palate is full-bodied and dry, with luscious cherries and anise flavours supported by sturdy tannins and upright acidity. Requires a pig on a spit to partner it.

Winemaker's Notes

Mendoza is famous for producing the world finest Malbec. While wine has been made in Mendoza for over 400 years, only recently, have the higher and cooler vineyard sights in the Uco Valley been identified as some of the best. The cooler climate results in a longer growing season which assists in developing flavour complexity and fine ripe tannins. This wine was made from closely spaced low yielding vines which produce wines with great depth. Grapes were hand-picked and hand sorted to ensure only the best fruit goes into our limited release wines.
