Cracka Review

Not to be confused with the Canadian capital city, torrentes is the champion white grape variety of Argentina. This version from Jed shows the typical pretty aromatics of torrentes with lots of floral honeysuckle and jasmine, together with stone fruits and citrus. The palate is light-bodied and dry with zippy lemon acidity and a spicy, dry, fruity finish. It's highly versatile on the food front, and will match with anything from deli-meats to spicy Thai dishes.

Winemaker's Notes

Appearance: Vivid straw with green hints.

Nose: Torrontes wines are known for their aromatic intensity and this wine is no exception, showing expressive varietal aromas of jasmine and rose.

Palate: The palate is built around a firm steely acid core with fleshy fruit on the front palate and spicy texture on the finish.

Food: Jasmine aromas and zingy acidity make Torrontes almost seem custom-made to contemporary Asian cuisine.

Alcohol: 13%

Notes: Torrontes is Argentina’s most celebrated white grape and one that is gaining the attention of wine critics around the world. Torrontes wines are known for their aromatic intensity, smooth texture and fine cleansing acidity. Fine examples of Torrontes are being produced in the cool climate of Mendoza’s Uco Valley..
