Joel Gott Zinfandel
Zinny is yet to catch on in a big way here in Oz, but lovers of full-bodied, sweetly-fruited wines should give it a go. This offering from the US of A (where Zinfandel is REALLY big!) is a full-blooded number, and shows lots of jubey raspberries and ripe plums on the nose, along with a hint of dried herbs and cola. The palate is full and fruity, with a sweetly-fruited centre, friendly tannins, and a spicy, fruity finish with a kick of vanilla oak in the tail. It's quite an easy drinking style, and would be great with meaty dishes.
