Deep amber/green, thick and raisiny, the 1995 vintage of this highly distinctive Marlborough wine is a blend of Chardonnay (75 per cent) and Sauvignon Blanc (25 per cent), harvested in late May at an exceptional sugar level of 68 brix. The fermentation (in French oak casks for the first year) lasted three years. It's a powerful, oily wine, very sweet, soft and syrupy. A real conversation piece.
