Expert Reviews

Tyson Stelzer (2009 Vintage) says
The gentle elegance of the Apple Isle is on show here. Pure violets, red cherries, nuances of brambles, cherry kernel and forest floor. Accurate fruit carry, textural tannins and well-gauged oak.

Nick Stock (2009 Vintage) says
There's an added layer of aromatic lift at work here - this shows additional depth too. Spice-dusted red and purple cherries here, some biscuit spices and a lifted musky appeal. The palate's juicy, with assertive acid drive set amid fine, fleshy fruit and a mix of red- and blue-fruit flavours. Tannins sweep effortlessly through. This wine offers plenty of promise.

James Halliday (2008 Vintage) says
A fragrant bouquet with red fruits and some stemmy characters; sweet red berry flavours are rounded off with touches of spice and stem on the finish.

Nick Stock (2007 Vintage) says
With vibrant, fragrant dark cherry and some undergrowthy notes, this looks very fresh and in the zone. Terrific palate shape and a good lozenge of cherry-flavoured fruit that makes a fine statement of pinot, delivering silken tannins and smooth follow-through. Terrific balance, precision and grace, with a dark cherry pip finish.

Campbell Mattinson & Gary Walsh (2007 Vintage) says
We're giving this the full value rating because, while $28 is not inexpensive, pinot noir of this quality usually costs a whole lot more. This has structure and class, pristine cherried fruit flavour, scarf-like silkiness, and lots and lots of length. It's a star of a pinot. Aroma, flavour, X-factor and persistence. We love it.

James Halliday (2006 Vintage) says
A wine with plenty of cherry and raspberry on both bouquet and palate, yet retains eloquence and a supple texture.
