Nick Stock (2008 Vintage) says
The first vintage released with a screwcap seal, this Clarendon shiraz has the best of the ripeness of the 2008 vintage but still holds fresh and vibrant fruit character. Red fruits, spice, liquorice, chocolate, dark berries and some really ripe fruit here; the palate has richness and lusciously ripened dark-berry fruits in spades. Some red fruits as it freshens through the finish and great tannin spread. A good life ahead.

Sourced from up in Clarendon at Grillis estate vineyard, this has a brambly forest berry and bracken nose, some wild herbs and a fresh serve of fine-grained oak that's settling in nicely. The palate reveals some sturdy flavour cast amid a fine tannin frame and plenty of vanillin flavour, finishing with savoury grip. Terrific structure; it will settle into stride in the mid-term.
