For those not afraid of a bit of sweetness in their pinot gris, this offering from Alsace will be right up your street. Aromas of green apples, yellow stone fruits, subtle marmalade and touches of smoky funk climb out of the glass, whilst the palate feels quite rich and textured, with spice and stone fruit flavours, licks of honey, poised acidity, and a long, lush, sweeter finish. This would not be put of place with chicken liver pate, or even a light, fruity dessert!
Gold in colour. Slightly smoky, fruity, apricot nose. A palate of cardamom, vanilla, cinnamon and myrrh notes mix with light apricot and tangerine flavours. Also lots of spice and autumnal hints. Light smoky finish. Excellent with complex aromas and a long-lasting finish, this rich-textured wine pairs extremely well with strong flavoured dishes and with traditional foie-gras!
