Cracka Review

Made from chardonnay, this is a crisp, unoaked style that shows scents of stone fruits, apples and flintiness on the nose, whilst the palate is light to medium-bodied and zippy, with a juicy citrus middle, a slaty texture, and a decent, thirst-quenching finish. A great alternative to the more buttery styles of chardy.

Winemaker's Notes

A wine that smiles and makes you smile! It is stylistically close to Pouilly-Fuissé, with its golden hue, its greenish reflection and its refreshing taste. The aromas are reminiscent of the ripe Chardonnay grape, with subtle notes of musk. A pleasant roundness coats the palate.

Ken Gargett (2003 Vintage) says
The first white burgundy I ever tasted was made by my mate Joe Drouhin and it is also the one cellar I have visited in this glorious part of France. So it should come as no surprise that I have something of an attachment to his wines. This is a great introduction to the world of French chardonnayÑnot a hint of blowsy chardy in sight, it is all tight elegance with a bit of oak for structure.
