Cracka Review

Juniper Estate Crossing Merlot is an ideal example of what good Merlot is all about. While it’s deep crimson colour is appealing to the eye, its velvety texture is smooth in the mouth, where its juicy plum and blueberry flavours backed by sweet vanilla notes on the finish. This wine is so smooth and delicious, it is sure to please both red and wine drinkers.

Winemaker's Notes

Vibrant crimson red in colour, this wine shows fruit characteristics on nose of black cherry, blackcurrant, raspberry, strawberry, liquorice and a floral lift along with spice and cedary vanillin oak. The palate presents succulent berry fruit along with plum, spice and toasty vanillin oak flavours and balanced fine powdery tannins with a long clean lingering finish.

Juniper Estate Crossing Cabernet Merlot

Expert Reviews

James Halliday (2010 Vintage) says
Mid garnet; a fresh and lively blend of black plum, mulberry and cedar are evident on the bouquet; the palate is fleshy and accessible on entry, with enough stuffing and depth to provide more than a modicum of interest in this fickle variety.

Australian Wine Companion 2013
James Halliday (2010 Vintage) says
A 75/21% primary blend, the remainder cabernet franc, malbec and shiraz. An extended fermentation was followed by 4 months in French oak (15% new); the bright crimson-purple colour announces a fresh, medium-bodied palate with a bright mix of red and black fruits supported by dusty tannins.
Australian Wine Companion 2014 Edition 2013
James Halliday (2009 Vintage) says
Bright and clear colour; a very elegant, medium-bodied wine with a fragrant red fruit bouquet, and sufficient tannins and French oak to provide complexity. Typical high-quality Margaret River style.
