Cracka Review

Juniper Estate Crossing Merlot is an ideal example of what good Merlot is all about. While it’s deep crimson colour is appealing to the eye, its velvety texture is smooth in the mouth, where its juicy plum and blueberry flavours backed by sweet vanilla notes on the finish. This wine is so smooth and delicious, it is sure to please both red and wine drinkers.

Winemaker's Notes

Vibrant crimson red in colour, this wine shows fruit characteristics on nose of black cherry, blackcurrant, raspberry, strawberry, liquorice and a floral lift along with spice and cedary vanillin oak. The palate presents succulent berry fruit along with plum, spice and toasty vanillin oak flavours and balanced fine powdery tannins with a long clean lingering finish.

Nick Stock (2009 Vintage) says
The toasty oak makes for handy window dressing here, and there's a wealth of ripe mulberry and plum fruit. The palate also delivers cassis and redder fruits; light, smooth tannins are very ripe but hold softly through the finish.

Vibrant and focused, with cedar, redcurrant and a splash of oak; medium-bodied, with a fleshy mid-palate, the tannins are fine and persistent.

Nice bright crimson-red colour, this shows the coolness of the 2006 vintage in Margaret River: plenty of herbs and leaves, fragrant berry fruits below. The palate looks in shape though, light pepper and spice, bouncy berry flavour and finely sprung tannins. Medium-bodied and an approachable easy drinker.
