Expert Reviews

James Halliday (2009 Vintage) says
Bright crimson-purple; reflects the warm part of the Adelaide Hills occupied by Geoff Hardy, for the wine is full-bodied with powerful tannins, a trifle beyond those needed for the variety; if and when those tannins soften, a very good wine will emerge.

Rob Geddes MW (2009 Vintage) says
Appealing blackcurrant and raspberry flavours. The salty plum black liquorice aromas are not very varietal but are quite savoury and interesting. The palates got a long firm tannin platform and finishes black fruit and salty plum savoury.

James Halliday (2007 Vintage) says
Deep crimson-purple; a strongly varietal wine on both bouquet and palate; intense blackcurrant fruit receives perfect oak and tannin support, in turn giving rise to excellent balance and length

James Halliday (2006 Vintage) says
Strong crimson-red, deep but bright; high quality wine, right in the mainstream of classic cabernet flavour profile, and with the structure and length to boot.

WINESTATE (2006 Vintage) says
Good varietal expression here. Minty and leafy on the nose and long, lean and sweet in the mouth.

James Halliday (2005 Vintage) says
Potent, powerful black fruits with a sombre backdrop; the tannins, however, are fine and verging on sweet, making an excellent finish.

James Halliday (2004 Vintage) says
Firm blackcurrant juicy fruit drives the wine which lacks the great texture of the Shiraz and Merlot.

James Halliday (2002 Vintage) says
Black fruits and attractive oak aromas; very powerful and concentrated; forceful tannins need to settle down; 420 cases made.

Solid blackcurrant fruit with splashes of chocolate and spice; ripe tannins, subtle oak, good wine.
