There’s always been an authentic, hand made feel to Troy and Tony Kalleske’s wines, but it seems the lads have refined a sense of polish in recent years, reinforced by the advent of their ultra-slick, retro, embossed bottles. There’s nothing shy about the second release of their foray into single vineyard cabernet, a concentrated and intense incarnation, with a rich core of cassis and tiny blackcurrants, overlaid with distinct bay leaf, fruit mince spice and dark chocolate French oak. A lush, sweet fruit core pulls into a savoury and spicy finish, underpinned by rustic tannins. Authentic character and appeal.

A selected parcel of home block cabernet that has plenty going for it in 2010. Some very distinct cabernet leaf aromas sit amid rich Greenock fruits in the plum, black cherry and cassis spectrum. There s a lovely thread of mocha and coffee; structure is complete and supports the wine right through to a plum stone finish.

Barossa cabernet delving deep into dark-fruited territory here, with sweet-pea pod aromas, mint, cassis, leaves, fresh-sawn cedary oak and earthy nuances. The palate's packed with lip-smacking tannins and plenty of black-cherry flavours, before a chocolate and cherry-pip finish. Get this whilst fresh.
