Karatta House Shiraz

Cracka Rating

Cracka Review

How good are the team at Karatta and we are lucky to have wines like this on board. This Shiraz from 2012 has dense chocolatey, blackberry fruit with some pretty black olive and pepper complexity. Fleshy and powerful, it delivers layers of fruit flavour accented with subtle oak. Top value here.

Winemaker's Notes

The Karatta Shiraz 2012 displays an intense deep violet colour with aromas of rich plum and forest fruits accented by a fragrant oak background. This wine has soft, velvety tannins supporting complex raspberry, nutmeg and savoury cedar characters. A beautifully balanced and elegant Shiraz that will continue to improve and soften for years to come.

Karatta House Shiraz

Expert Reviews

James Halliday (2012 Vintage) says
Deep colour; a full-bodied wine, the bouquet rich and fulsome, the palate taking the lead from the bouquet but building on it, with stacks of black fruits, licorice, oriental spice and ripe tannins. Admirable value.
