The wines of C J Pask owe their many awards and gold medals to the very talented Kate Radburnd who has worked tirelessly to ensure the world is aware of the wine regions of New Zealand. This signature range shows her work with Pinot Noir from Martinborough. This is elegant and soft with dark cherry and subtle oak, a perfect accompaniment for duck especially Chinese style.
“I believe the essence of New Zealand wine is the absolute pristine fruit characters derived from our superb climate and dramatic geography.”
This Martinborough Pinot Noir is plush, smooth and textured; all about the mouth feel. Dark cherry fruit is supported by subtle sweet oak and silky, fine tannins. Elegant and rich, created for your enjoyment.
2011 temperatures and growing degree days (GDD) were favourable for fruit development with monthly averages being at or above the 30 year mean. Selective harvesting throughout harvest ensured quality was not compromised.
Lightly oaked in French barriques, to promote the fruit forward characters of dark cherries and black berries. Spices mingle with dried thyme. Smooth tannins and a soft mouth feel linger as does a slight savoury note.
