Kawarau Organic Pinot Gris

Cracka Rating

Cracka Review

If you’ve not tried a Pinot Gris from Central Otago, we think you should, even more so when you realize the fruit is organic so it will make your drinking seem more virtuous. This comes from Kawaurau in Central Otago, where winemaker Dean Shaw believes that the fruit should speak for itself. This Pinot Gris speaks loudly and says “Drink me now!” It’s layered with pear fruit and has a classic mineral edge with hints of spice before a long, textural finish.

Winemaker's Notes

Made in a dry style with rarely any residual sugars it is fermented in stainless steel using wild yeasts with time on lees, displaying typical varietal characteristics with an appealing minerality. Balanced and elegantly textured with a clean, sweet fruit statement complemented by white pepper and a spicy finish, this wine can be enjoyed now and up to 3 years after vintage. Our Pinot Gris is a food focused wine all about texture, layers and length.
