Kemblefield Winemakers Signature Cabernet Merlot

Expert Reviews

Michael Cooper (2002 Vintage) says
The 2002 vintage was estate-grown at Mangatahi, in Hawke's Bay, and French oak-aged. A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (50 per cent), Merlot (35 per cent) and Cabernet Franc (15 per cent), it shows lightish colour, with slightly leafy aromas. It's a medium-bodied, slightly rustic wine with moderate depth of red-berry and herb flavours and a crisp finish.

Michael Cooper (2000 Vintage) says
The smooth, easy-drinking 2000 vintage was estate-grown at Mangatahi, in Hawke's Bay. A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (59 per cent), Merlot (26 per cent) and Cabernet Franc (15 per cent), it is fullish in colour, with decent depth of red berry/plum flavours, slightly high acidity and a green, herbal thread running through. Ready.
