Michael Cooper (2001 Vintage) says
This is typically a solid West Auckland red with berryish, spicy, slightly leafy flavours. The 2001 vintage was matured for a year in French and American oak casks. Deeply coloured, with slightly leafy aromas and some cedary oak adding complexity, it has berry and plum flavours showing some richness, but finishes with green-edged tannins.

Michael Cooper (2000 Vintage) says
This is typically a solid West Auckland red with berryish, spicy, slightly leafy flavours. From a good growing season, the 2000 was matured for a year in new and two-year-old French and American oak casks. Full and youthful in colour, it's a generous, ripe-tasting wine with smooth blackcurrant/plum flavours and some savoury, earthy complexity. It should mature well.

Michael Cooper (1997 Vintage) says
The 1996 vintage offers pleasing depth of ripe blackcurrant, red berry and spice flavours in a lightly wooded style. The 1997 was estate-grown and matured for 10 months in new, one and two-year-old French and American oak casks. The colour is fullish and bright; the palate is weighty and smooth, with a gentle oak influence and fairly rich berryish flavours.
