James Halliday (2012 Vintage) says
Once again, impenetrable colour, yet there is a lift to the perfume redolent of fresh crushed blackberry, vine sap, mocha and spicy oak that is alluring; the palate is thickly textured on entry, with juicy acidity providing lift and lightness on the long and fine-grained tannin finish.

Succulence here despite the bold proportions and salty finish; big on dark fruit, spice and nougat oak character. Big mouth coating shiraz but a whip of saline acidity lifts and freshens. Add charry meats.

James Halliday (2009 Vintage) says
Deep crimson-purple; estate-grown, and spent 24 months in French and American oak, which has left a significant impression; more likely than not time will bring balance, and the wine has an appealing texture, full-bodied though it may be.

Good colour; a complex bouquet with some licorice and tar nuances to the plum and blackcurrant of the bouquet; the full-bodied palate provides more of the same, 24 months in French oak also making its mark; estate-grown, hand-pruned and hand-picked.

Jeremy Oliver (2007 Vintage) says
Stylish, elegant and very regional, with a delightful emphasis of vibrant palate-staining fruit but without excessive mintiness. Scented with briary aromas of raspberries, cassis, and fresh chocolate/vanilla oak, its deep, dark fruits are tightly integrated with fresh new oak and a pliant spine of fine, bony tannin, finishing with graphite-like notes, a hint of mineral and a lingering suggestion of animal hide.

Jeremy Oliver (2006 Vintage) says
A very polished, ultra-ripe shiraz whose dark, alluring bouquet of pristine dark plums and berries reveals layers of meaty, chocolate, cedar, vanilla and smoked bacon influences. Its luscious, unctuous palate of intense black and blue fruits, luxuriant oak and fine, crunchy tannin seamlessly culminates in a dark, mineral aspect with a note of currant. It finishes with a lingering, slightly edgy meatiness suggestive of a hint of fruit breakdown. Play it safe and drink it sooner.

James Halliday (2005 Vintage) says
A powerful, concentrated wine reflecting all the vineyard and winery inputs; focused and rich, retaining supple mouthfeel and good balance. Low yield, French oak, no filtration.

Jeremy Oliver (2005 Vintage) says
Lavishly ripened and assertively oaked, this dark and concentrated shiraz marries heady, sweet blackberry, plum and currant-like fruit with smoky, cedary and vanilla oak. Backed by suggestions of star anise and minerals, it's a fraction warm and spirity but its juicy, slightly tarry fruit integrates neatly with a ripe, powdery spine of quite firm.grainytannins. It finishes with a lingering core of fruit and a hint of menthol.

Dense colour; rich blackberry and blackcurrant run through an intense and long palate, with excellent balance and structure; exemplary tannins and oak.

James Halliday (2001 Vintage) says
The maximum possible amount of lusciously sweet red and black fruits, vanilla oak and soft tannins have been crammed into the bottle.

Medium to full purple-red; the clean, intense bouquet has blackberry and plum fruit, with excellent oak integration. The wonderfully intense and long palate brings some bitter chocolate into the equation, finishing with fine, ripe tannins. From the same vineyard as - and similar winemaking to - the Covenant Shiraz.

James Halliday (1998 Vintage) says
Medium to full red-purple; ripe, rich blackberry and chocolate fruit aromas lead into a gloriously rich palate offering the same flavours as the bouquet, untrammelled by oak, and finishing with soft, almost silky, tannins. Irresistible.
