Cracka Review

Colour: Dense dark red with purple highlights.

Aroma: Lifted black plum and blackberry notes coupled with spicy oak.

Michael Cooper (2007 Vintage) says
The 2007 vintage from Constellation NZ includes 4 per cent Malbec and 3 per cent Cabernet Franc. It's a full-coloured, fruity and flavoursome wine with ripe plum and spice characters and gentle oak and tannins, giving an easy-drinking appeal.

The 2003 vintage is a regional blend with full, purple-flushed colour and plenty of crisp, plummy, berryish flavour

Michael Cooper (2002 Vintage) says
Grown at two sites, coastal and inland, the 2002 vintage was matured in new and older American oak casks. Deeply coloured, with lifted, sweet oak aromas, it's a mouthfilling wine (14 per cent alcohol) with strong, ripe, plummy, spicy flavours, seasoned with toasty oak, some complexity and firm, chewy tannins.

Michael Cooper (1998 Vintage) says
Full of charm, the 1998 vintage is a delicious red for drinking anytime over the next couple of years. A blend of 93 per cent Merlot and 7 per cent Cabernet Franc, it shows full, bright colour and attractive, floral, raspberryish aromas, seasoned with sweet oak. The palate is big and generous, with excellent depth of plummy, very delicate flavours, oak richness and a good framework of tannin. Lovely, strongly varietal wine.
