Kim Crawford Pia White Blend

Expert Reviews

Michael Cooper (2000 Vintage) says
Named after winemaker Kim Crawford's daughter, this is designed as an oak-aged dry white of varying regions and varieties, depending on the vintage. The 2000 is a Hawke's Bay Chardonnay, grown at Te Awanga, fermented with natural yeasts and matured on its yeast lees for 11 months in one-year-old American oak barrels. It's a full-bodied, fairly complex wine with citrusy, slightly buttery flavours and a strong, biscuity oak influence, but is starting to taste a bit tired and past its best.
